4x4x4 PL9823 LED Cube Base
thingiverse
This is a base/case that I designed for my 4x4x4 PL9823 RGB Cube. The cube itself is mounted on a 10cm x 15cm protoboard, and this base was built around that specific requirement.\r\nI created the design in Tinkercad, so if you need to make any modifications, you can easily download a copy from their platform: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/9YMhCBPISxb\r\nAs for the build process, there are several excellent PL9823 RGB Cube tutorials available on YouTube and Instructables, so I won't be reproducing those here. The LED's and protoboard were sourced from Amazon: \r\nProtoboard - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZYZMM3H\r\nLEDs - https://www.amazon.com/MOKUNGIT-PL9823-Addressable-Chipset-F5/dp/B01ABUDW6C/\r\nThe microphone was purchased from Adafruit: https://www.adafruit.com/product/1063\r\nMy project is running on an Arduino Mega, and it's currently using the latest VU Meter code from Cine-Lights channel on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOG6Bi2kvpDa1c8gHWZI5CQ/feed - be sure to check out their feed for some amazing inspiration. There's also a build video in their feed that covers the specifics of building a cube like this one, if you need more detailed instructions. I highly recommend checking out Cine-Lights' Fire Lamp project - my base is actually designed specifically for that project.\r\n\r\nI plan to add screw holes to the design in the future, once I get back to working on this project. While it's not strictly necessary, adding them will make the build process even easier. Once I have some audio content that meets YouTube's standards, I'll be sure to post a video showcasing my 4x4x4 PL9823 RGB Cube.
