4x4 Post Tiki Torch

This is what I love about 3D printing. I scoured the internet markets for something like this and couldn't find anything similar. So, I designed and built five of them at a very low cost and they turned out great! I recommend using PETG or ABS because PLA doesn't perform well under prolonged heat or UV exposure. I opted for PETG for mine. The riser and large tube are made from schedule 40 PVC - I acquired small sections from my local big box hardware store, enough to create eight of them: (1) 1/2" x 30", (2) 3" x 30". You can make the riser as long as you want; I chose a length of 3 1/2". The large tubes were cut to 5 1/4"... which leaves a small gap under the metal can that holds the torch fuel, forcing it to ride on the upper rim. They will work with friction fit but if you prefer to glue them together, you'll need a special solvent adhesive. I used this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00TCUJ7A8/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1. It's essential to wear protective gloves and eye wear and use the product outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. This stuff is no joke, but after using the needle to wick the solvent into the joints, they were one part within a minute or two. After some sanding or filling on rough spots, I applied plastic-compatible hammered metal spray paint to mine. I think they came out perfect!
