4x4 Post Drainage Bases

The purpose of these designs is to place a water drainage 'pyramid' around the base of a 4"x4" post so as to cause water to drain away from the post, thus minimizing rot from standing water. Ordinarily when a post is secured in concrete the concrete is formed with a slight 'crown' to cause water run-off away from the post, however, sometimes the person setting the post simply trowels the concrete flat :-( These designs are intended to allow retrofitting such a situation with a means to add the desired run-off of water away from the post, thus preventing standing water around the post (and the rot it produces). Two designs are provided. One is a full 4-sided design, split into 2 (identical) halves that can be applied around the post (and glued-together using polyurethane 'concrete caulk'). One is a 3-sided design intended for applications where the post is positioned-against a structure (e.g. house) preventing the 2 halves of the 4-sided design to be used. In the case of the 3-sided design, the 4th side needs to be 'filled-in' with the polyurethane caulk being used to hold the part to the concrete base. The 3-sided design is provided as a 1-piece or 2-piece version, the 2-piece version intended for smaller 3D printers in which the 1-piece won't fit.
