4x4 Lumber Joinery Template

Looking for a more efficient method to mark 4x4 lumber for cutting square/circular tenons or lap joints?  So was I.  These were created a long time ago and there is plenty of room for improvement.  For instance a version whose tolerances better accounts for variations in lumber or thicker extrusions to better function as a router template.  Perhaps its time to fully parametrize a lumber template.
