This is a simple 4x10 register booster I designed to increase airflow for a room that was underserviced by my HVAC system. There's lots of debate about whether or not boosters are ok for your HVAC system so please use at your own discretion and do your own research. In my situation this was the best short term and quick solution to increase cold air flow into one room in my house. I used two Delta 80x80x48mm (AFB0824GHE) fans with high static pressure, this is enough to cool the room down a degree or two Celsius below the set temperature at the thermostat. The assembly is pretty simple, the plate is superglued onto the insert with the side with the two humps/bars facing up, then screw your 80x80 fans onto the plate on the inside of the insert. After this you can wire in your controller and screw your potentiometer onto the grill. In my case, I screwed the assembled grill/insert/plate into my ceiling. For floor registers I would recommend using M5 screws and nuts to attach the grill to the insert before placing the booster into the register. Honestly, the fans I used were overkill. They're noisy as all heck, but they do pump air like crazy. I wouldn't recommend using a fan as loud or powerful as these, you could definitely get by with something half as strong and still pump enough air to heat or cool your room comfortably. You'll need a bed that can at least print 280mm. Don't forget to turn off skirt if you're using Cura and the models show up in grey.
