This cutter is specifically designed to cut 4mm PTFE tubing and create a precise 30, 45 or 60-degree angle taper on the tube end. I chose simple and widely available materials to make it easy to build. The primary reason I created this cutter was to ensure proper fitting of PTFE tubes into hotends. On certain hotends like the E3D V6, a good taper is essential for a tight seal. Hand shaving the tube can be tricky and may lead to improper seating in the hotend. When lined with PTFE, this cutter can also be used to cut a clean end on 1.75mm filament. Be cautious when loading the blade, as the body is designed to prevent self-injury, but persistence may still result in injury. I believe this tool will be useful for most makers, and I hope you enjoy using it.
