The issue with creating jigs for blades featuring guide slots lies in the fact that most blades are not chisel-style, meaning they have a flat edge on one side and a beveled edge on the other. However, many blades come equipped with bevels on both the front and back sides, which results in an angled cut rather than a precise 90-degree angle due to the bevel pushing the cut portion of the tube away from the blade. To address this problem, a specially designed jig is needed, one that features a flat open end on one side and an angled open end on the other. The idea behind this design is to hold the blade at an angle while cutting, which ensures that the beveled edge of the blade lies flat against the jig, resulting in perfectly clean cuts every time.
