4mm Bowden Tube Clamp With 6mm Hex Cutout - Fitting Replacement
thingiverse
This is a modified version of ProtomakerSprint's 12mm Bowden Tube clamp found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2537458. A 6-sided cutout was added to the bottom of the nut grip part to firmly push down into the 6mm hex nut on my printer's carriage, effectively replacing the pneumatic fitting holding the PTFE tube in place. The clamp grips onto the PTFE tube perfectly and has not affected my extruder's performance or print quality. As ProtomakerSprint points out, this fitting presses onto the PTFE tube more than a standard pneumatic fitting would. It is perfect for people who have made mistakes like me and forcefully ripped out the PTFE tube because they didn't understand how to use a fitting. I prefer this setup since it gives me direct access to the hotend and I don't have to take the whole thing apart to unclog it anymore. This design is also easier on the PTFE tube than standard fittings that came with my printer, which have dug into the tube quite a bit. This modification was made for my Wanhao Duplicator i3 Mini, but it should work perfectly on the Monoprice Select Mini printer V1/2 as well. It can be applied to any other printers using 6mm hex nuts. In my case, I had already removed the black plastic part of the fitting, but if you haven't I'd recommend doing so for a tighter fit.
