They're Not People, They're Customers We have a tendency to look at customers as people, but they are not. They're customers. And we should treat them like it. We don't invite our customers over for dinner or go on vacation with them. We don't loan them money or help them move into their new house. We don't even know their last names. So why do we expect to be friends with them? Why do we expect them to love us just because we've provided them with a service? The truth is, customers are not our friends. They're people who are paying us for something we're offering them. And that's it. If you want to succeed in business, you need to stop thinking of your customers as people and start treating them like the one thing they actually are: customers.
