I was pondering our coordinate system, x-y-z, and they indeed feature negative values as well. That's six possible directions to move from a given origin. With my 4-coordinate system, there are still only three values emanating from a given origin, but each one is positive! These vectors of positivity got me thinking: what shape would they form if they intersected at two and three points? The result was a hollow ball in this shape and its solid counterpart. I then had the idea to bring it into being using metal. I produced the first one in bronze, gave it away, and created the second in stainless steel, which I still possess. To my surprise, it prints beautifully – including my company name on the interior! If memory serves me right, I used RedEye for both prints.
