The lid has a slightly flattened conic shape with a thickened edge that comes to an end with a knob adorned with incisions. Under the knob, a handle is securely attached featuring a small button close to the ring attachment area and decorated with incised lines, just like the body of the lid itself. This distinctive type of lid with a knob and a handle is commonly found in the Orăştiei Mountains, particularly at Sarmizegetusa Regia. It was used for covering containers, some of which bear micro-inscriptions on their knob, resembling graffiti. Findspot: Costeşti – Laz, a commune within the Orăştioara region (Hunedoara County) Dimensions: The lid's height is 6.5 cm, while its maximum diameter reaches 13.2 cm. Material: It's made from clay with a fine brick-red-yellow paste containing mica particles. Technique: Wheel-throwing was used to shape the object, followed by oxidation firing to achieve the desired finish. Historical Date: The artifact dates back to the 1st century AD. Time period: This piece falls within the Late Iron Age (Dacian) era. Digitization Method: A team from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca used a 3D Laser scanner for digitization purposes.
