This compact cap will securely snap onto mowers such as my Craftsman push mower with a 45mm outside diameter nozzle. The mower features an interlocking mechanism inside the tube for its original cap, but this option is much simpler and relies on friction to stay in place. It may not adequately vent air into the tank, but it seems to function properly, likely due to sufficient air leakage.
