I assembled it and it fitted perfectly, using supports for the screw holes. This device was designed specifically for holding 1911 steel magazines, but I'm confident that other single stack .45 mags and smaller mags could also fit inside. The goal here is to mount multiple magazines throughout your living space so you have rapid access to additional ammunition. Typically, I carry one hollow point and one full metal jacket magazine, allowing me to shoot through walls or doors if necessary.
