This is a straightforward diffuser that fits snugly onto 45 mm round light bulbs. You can use it to lower light output or alter the hue of the light. Clearly, this is NOT designed for incandescent bulbs; only LED bulbs will work! For high-powered LED bulbs that reach temperatures above 60°C, you may also want to opt for a more heat-resistant plastic than PLA. It comes in two versions: one is 1 mm thick and the other is 1.5 mm thick. The choice between them depends on how opaque your filament is and how much control over the light you need. The model is precise and doesn't take into account the shrinkage of the plastic as it cools down after printing. For ABS, you should typically upscale the model before printing to 100.7%, for PLA to 100.3%. If you don't do this, it may be too tight and break when you try to install it. Of course, you may also need to apply an additional scaling factor if your bulb is not exactly 45 mm in diameter.
