40mm Test-Granadelauncher
grabcad
This is a model of a test stand designed for speed measurement and other testing of 40mm Rifle grenades. It's typically activated by a solenoid or a string. When testing live shaped charge grenades against armor, it's essential not to position yourself nearby, as these types of mounts are commonly used at NIJ and VPAM, along with other ballistic institutions and manufacturers for ammo testing. I don't claim ownership of this system, nor do I believe it's patented, since the process of creating these test blocks has become widely known over time. This specific setup was developed by HPI for business partners like VPAM. They specialize in lab-grade speed and pressure measurement equipment for ballistics, featuring piezoelectric elements capable of measuring pressures up to several thousand bars. Their products are designed with excess capacity to ensure safety when firing experimental loads.
