40MM rear fan adapter for Pi 7" Screen Case
thingiverse
This is a modified back cover for a Pi 4 7" touchscreen case for use with a 40MM fan. The stock POE fan was waay too loud and vibrated the case just enough where I could hear it across the room, so I designed this from scratch to cut the noise :) In my use case I'm using a Neego case https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B081VT2CPW with a touchscreen https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0153R2A9I Pi4, official POE hat, and a 40MM Noctua fan https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NEMGCIA . This should also fit with any other brand names of the case I'm using like the Multcomp pro or RPi4TSCBlk. Pretty simple to use. Simply unscrew the original POE fan, cut the wires to it, and splice them into the Noctua. Red to red, black to black. I'd recommend to just cut the yellow wire as it won't be needed. It can also be wired directly into the 5V and ground GPIO pins. The fan is attached to the outside of the case using the anti-vibration mounts that come with it. The fit to put the case on is tight but it's designed that way. I also have it a bit bigger than the actual hole it covers so removal won't be an issue.
