This design is engineered to be a modular, 3D printable, 40mm gas mask filter that can be easily assembled with minimal supports required. The size of this filter is specifically designed to stop large amounts of chemicals and particles effectively, unlike some other similar designs that may not provide adequate protection. To assemble the filter, simply cut filter paper from a HEPA air conditioning filter or another suitable source and sandwich it between the filter holder and filter ring. The filter component can then be threaded into the inside of the main canister body with a bit of resistance. For improved air seals in certain areas, Teflon tape or silicone caulking around the canister threads can be used. When choosing a printing material, nylon is an ideal option due to its high chemical resistance and strength. If your gas mask has Russian threads (GOST) instead of NATO threads, print the GOST version of the main canister body for compatibility. Note: This design should not be relied upon in life-threatening situations. Use common sense to decide when a 3D printed part is safe to rely on.
