40mm Fan w/ Pivot Arm
thingiverse
It has been some time since I uploaded anything to this site, but I decided it was high time to start sharing my creations in the hopes they might benefit others down the line. This is a completely from scratch 40mm fan with pivot arm that runs on a small hobby motor. The DC motor is a 6V one that I salvaged from an old printer, so unfortunately I have no further information about it. The fan shroud has two clip-on points so a second fan shroud can be attached to redirect the air flow. Three small screws attach the fan shroud to the motor mount. The pivot arm uses an M4 bolt and nut and is approximately 65 mm long. The fan blades pressure fit onto the motor coupling. If it's a bit loose, you can wrap the coupling in Teflon tape to make it a tighter fit. Designed using Fusion360: http://a360.co/2lEuxWa This was originally designed to cool a DC motor on a water pump I built, which is what the background of the pictures are. It works well and is a bit noisier than a 40mm pc fan. Print Settings Printer Brand: Printrbot Printer: Printrbot Simple Metal Rafts: No Supports: No
