This is a remix of JamesK1's "40mm_Fan_Shroud_w_stay_on_clip" designed specifically for use with E3Dv6 hotends. The key benefit of this design lies in its ability to prevent the fang from freely swiveling on the hotend heatsink, which is crucial when working with ABL/MBL probes. If these probes are not secured properly, X and Y offsets become unpredictable. Other E3Dv6 heatsink shrouds available may increase the Z of the fang's tips relative to the nozzle, but this design takes a different approach. It features holes that accommodate an M3 screw longer than 30mm along with a captive M3 hex nut for added stability. The stay-on clip has been removed from this design since it did not work effectively in my application. For optimal strength and heat resistance, PETG is recommended as the print material of choice. Additionally, printing with the fan opening facing either the X or Y plane provides the best layer strength. However, this may require supports, which can be placed From Bed or Everywhere, depending on your printer's capabilities. Supports from Bed might lead to a few flyaway strands, especially if your printer struggles with bridging.
