Published on 1/18/18 - This project is now defunct; thank you for your previous support. Previously updated on 10/8/13 - Apologies for the delay, as fredzemail74's alternative redirect vent piqued my interest (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:107080), I found it preferable (thanks, fred). The airflow differences are evident; however, I haven't printed much since the replacement. Research on whether my design impacts the fan negatively over time is still pending. Give both a try and see which suits you best. My larger prints were lifting due to the stepstruder fan blowing cool air onto the metal frame and build platform excessively. This vent, measuring 5mm similar to the existing chrome grill, replaces it by directing exhaust upwards, minimizing the issue. The .stl and .sldprt have a blank face, but I added a 'P' for style points. Instructions: These were my specific settings that worked initially (lucky me). I haven't experimented with others yet. In MakerWare, use Medium slicer with support enabled, 20% infill, 2 shells, .25mm layer thickness, default temps and speeds, and place it in the back right corner (the warmest part of the build plate).
