The 40mm Fan Mount is designed for Solidoodle 2 printers and can be printed without overhangs exceeding 45 degrees. It includes a small air-dam to prevent excessive cooling of the extruder; however, some users may find this feature unnecessary. An "no dam" version is also available. To install, print with the fan-bolting face down on the build surface, requiring a standard 40mm fan and M3 bolt for mounting. The mount fits plywood SD extruder bases and works effectively, albeit with minor warping due to uneven cooling.
