You need a fan grill to accommodate fans like extruder cooling fans, specifically ones that are 40mm x 40mm x 20mm in size. There's one version that has only retainers, and another that comes equipped with two mounting holes. Print the fan grill using PLA at a 10% infill, but any material will work. Make sure to print it with the retainers facing upwards.
