40mm Fan Filter Silencer

**USE FOR 40MM FAN WITH M3 BOLTS** I recently upgraded my printer with vibration-dampening feet, which significantly reduced the noise level. However, this upgrade highlighted another noise source - my fans. The original design called for an 80mm fan secured by M2.5 bolts. To accommodate a smaller 40mm fan and readily available M3 bolts, I modified the file. To reduce fan noise even further, I experimented with an unconventional material: a used kitchen sponge. After thoroughly cleaning it, I inserted it between two printed pieces, creating a makeshift dampening pad. The result is a quieter printer experience. There are two versions of this modification: one with a 5mm tall design and another with a 10mm tall version.
