40mm Fan Duct for RAMPS 1.4 (Solidworks sources added)
thingiverse
Direct cooling for ramps uses a 40mm fan. A 40mm fan duct is available to cool electronics. The lower section includes mounting bolts that attach directly to an Arduino. The bolts are spaced 3 mm from the mounting surface to prevent electrical interference. Two different versions of the lower section exist, one with a regulator duct and another without. Users who choose the version with the regulator duct can install an L-shaped deflector to increase airflow over the voltage regulator. Thirty percent of the air flow is redirected to the voltage regulator in this configuration. The top section funnels air towards drivers and MOSFETs. The hole diameter is optimized for each component to ensure even airflow. Thanks are extended for feedback. An update on June 3rd, 2015 introduced a new lower section with larger ducts to cool the voltage regulator. Additionally, the thermal pad under the regulator is now cooled through this updated design. **Assembly Instructions:** 1. **Print Setting:** * Layer Height: 0.25mm * Trace Width: 0.5mm 2. **No Support Structure Required** 3. **Inverted Bed Printing for Top Section:** Place the top section upside down in the bed. The holes will be covered by 0.5mm bridges; remove them after printing.
