40mm Fan Duct for E3D hot-end
thingiverse
I adore the E3D hot-end, but all I have on hand are 40mm fans. So this is exactly what I needed. This one fits snugly between the heat-sink fins and does not snap in like the original duct provided by E3D. It worked for me after three tries with PLA, but the first one broke instantly. That's probably due to my setup. To get the best possible results from it, I shrunk down the hot-end part of this cooler to just fit over the bottom fins only - a crucial detail, as these specific heat-break components can really make use of that increased air-flow. I even printed up a tiny fan guard in order to safeguard those fans of mine. So far, so good - but let's see if I have better luck next time, shall we?
