This is a simple adapter to use a 40mm fan on a standard V6 clip. Sometimes the cooling power of a 30mm fan is just not enough to prevent heat creep on a V6 setup. 3D Printed 40mm fan clips can be fragile as normal PTEG/PLA lack the flexibility required, and printing with Polypropylene is more trouble than it is worth for this simple clip. Typical 40mm fans give around 6 cfm airflow versus a 30mm fan at between 4 & 5
