Revamped Design Features and Improvements After 5 years, I redesigned my project to address user feedback. The inlet opening now features a velocity stack, resulting in reduced turbulence and pressure leak. To improve the impeller, I added a turbocharger-inspired design and increased the hub thickness for better grip on the motor shaft. Running on an 18650 lipo cell at 4.2V, the new fan produces a powerful air jet at the outlet while making a whining sound. A new motor mount was designed for a single motor on hand, but you can find similar ones online. The bolt pattern has been adjusted, and the number of bolts reduced. However, a drawing of the bolt pattern is provided for custom motor mount designs. Assembling this project requires: 1-3.5V DC motor, 4 M3 x 20 bolts, 4 M3 nuts, 1 M3 washer, and a power supply of your choice. To assemble, ream the center hole of the impeller to fit snugly onto the motor shaft, insert the motor into the mount, and attach the fan housing, cover, and motor mount with nuts. Ensure eye protection before powering up the motor. Remember to follow safety precautions while working on this project!
