40mm Air Filter w/ Stackable Carbon Cartridge
thingiverse
This is a straightforward design that I came up with for my Lack enclosure, which I think works universally. If you have a case, just cut out a hole and it will fit right in. Two features that I focused on are: 1. Stackable cartridges give you the option to add more activated carbon to further reduce odors. If your wife is still complaining about ABS smells, just add more cartridges! 2. The fins on each cartridge provide an even mix of filtered and unfiltered air to optimize the filtering quality of the next layer of carbon cartridge. They also serve as spacers for airflow and prevent overloading the fan. I used a 0-10% infill rate because this is essentially just a container, so I didn't think it needed any extra support. Supports are only needed when printing the Stackable Cartridge to create nice square connecting lips. All parts are designed to snap on firmly and fit together well, with only two screws required for the fan. Feel free to experiment with this design - if you come up with an improvement, I'd love to use it!
