4040 motor bracket
thingiverse
This bracket empowers users to seamlessly integrate a NEMA 17 59mm onto 4040 extrusion, facilitating dual Z vertical motion. The rationale behind this design lies in relocating the vertical rails from the sides and housing them between the rails, thereby freeing up additional width for the heat bed on both left and right sides while slightly compromising height. A discreet groove on one side enables effortless routing of wiring into 4040 extrusion, resulting in a neater installation process. For optimal results when printing with PLA, users are advised to employ a low-amp motor due to the potential for heat-induced melting; PETG is recommended as a more suitable material. The design's intentional offset—stemming from the 42x42 motor size and 40x40 rail dimensions—ensures a flush exterior fit, allowing for easy enclosure of the printer if desired.
