4040 Extrusion Linear Carriage

4040 Extrusion Linear Carriage

I bought some 4040 extrusion for a CNC build project and realized there are plenty of options available for 2020 but very few for 4040. So I designed and built my own carriage. It is modular in design, using the same clamp arrangement as used in my 4040 T-nut, allowing you to simply plug them in. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2513895 It's designed for linear motion on extrusion, using both sides, which means it's not V-slot compatible. I've included the Tinkercad object file since this was made before I started using OpenSCAD. Hopefully, it will help people remix and create their own versions. Features: Modular, so split the STL and print what you need! Hardware Needed for Each Full Carriage Mount: -- 6 x M5 x 30mm Bolts -- 18 x M5 Nuts (used as spacers but you could use washers or springs) -- 6 x Wheels (I used 22mm OD by 7mm Width bearing type with a 5mm hole) Other Notes: You may need to adjust the scale, etc., depending on your printer's accuracy and the exact extrusion specifications.
