#40 Roller Chain
thingiverse
Create your first design on Tinkercad featuring a #40 roller chain, which is also known as 40RC or 40-1, or 1/2" industrial chain meant for use with #40 chain sprockets. You might face printing challenges when you receive your Rigidbot in October; it may need two copies to test the print. Each copy provides 2 chain links: a roller link and a connecting link, fastened by snap-in technology. The plastic 3D printed version is not suitable for high power applications, but works well for low speed and power uses. This item was developed using Tinkercad; you can edit it online here. A recent update on October 27th notes that printing necessitated a few changes, especially the use of rafts to prevent pins from loosening. An additional update on May 8th, 2019 reveals new photos showcasing the difference between links printed by RigidBot and SparkMaker, along with a new .stl file designed for SLA printers and boasting longer pins that generally function better.
