4" x 4" square base for RIDGID 18v Compact Router
prusaprinters
Lost or damaged the base to your RIDGID 18v router? Or maybe just want a base with an easy to calculate offset? This base is square like the original but 6mm thick and 4 x 4 inches. The screw hole layout is 65 x 65 mm to fit the router's 4mm screw hole pattern. When using this base you can calculate your guide rail position as 2 inches from center of your bit minus half the bit diameter. So as an example if your bit is 1/2 inch in diameter then you would subtract 1/4" from 2 inches and your offset would be 1.75" to the edge of the cut closest to the guide rail. The screw holes are slightly oversized to give room for centering the router on this base. You can use my 1/4" x 40mm centering mandrel (link below) to center the base on the router since the center opening is 40mm. The center opening is beveled to help keep chips from building up around the bit. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5255185 Watch for my dust collection attachment that is currently under development will be coming soon. Print Settings Printer Brand: Prusa Printer: I3 MK3S Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .20 Infill: 20% Filament: Hatchbox PLA 1.75 Silver Notes: Print inverted with the top side down. This will make for better counterbores on the screw holes. The beveled center section is less than 45 degrees so should not need any type of support. I printed with top and bottom 1.4mm thick and with 8 perimeters to give strength around the edges and screw holes. Infill I set at 20%. Category: Parts
