4-Wheel Obstacle Avoiding bot
thingiverse
This project is not my own. The originals are not on Thingiverse that I know of. I'm storing it here for my own uses. It comes from Michael Klements at https://www.the-diy-life.com/arduino-based-obstacle-avoiding-robot-car/ All props and thanks go to original author. I found the chassis simple, clever and convenient. The vertical posts were not strong enough for my build, but I'm clumsy. So I might reinforce em on future builds, but overall it works fine. I mainly wanted to try the L293D motor driver shield on a 4-wheel bot. It's very easy and has good pins for the HC-SR04 and more. Regarding the code, it's clean, though there is one thing I might like to implement in the future: Instead of using delay() for scanning distances it might be nice to implement millis(), which would allow one to perpetually scan without delaying functionality. But I've only got so much time. Anyway, Big thanks to the original. The pictures and built vehicle shown here are my own. ** Bits ** * Arduino Uno * L293D Motor Driver Shield * SG90 Servo * HC-SR40 Sonic Sensor * 4x DC motors & wheels * 3.7v LiPo Battery Pack (18650) with Charger Boost to 12v * SPST on/off switch video: https://youtu.be/JuGLERn1Of4
