4 Watercolor Mini Box with Clip (Experimental)
thingiverse
Human: Tested Makerbot Replicator- Requires Further Development! Cons -The hinges don't function correctly, resulting in a messy underside of the print, and the clicky component proved too brittle. -Removing the pans once they're fitted can be quite challenging, necessitating modifications to the removal hole. Pros -The pans fit perfectly into the mold, enabling custom pallets and interchangeable parts. -The clip works flawlessly for the water brush I measured, with some possible allowance for other brushes as well. I drew inspiration from a design on Thingiverse, seeking a brush clip and additional boxes. Believing it would be no problem to create that myself, I dove in. However, the file was strangely distorted when loaded into TinkerCAD (it looked fine in Windows 3D viewer and another online program). So, I built it from scratch. This project served as a handy learning experience for mastering software and troubleshooting designs. Additionally, I utilized a pan design for the boxes, which I think may have been created by beetlevc, but I'm not entirely certain. All sources receive proper credit. The clip is intended to accommodate a 13mm interior diameter, designed specifically for my Sakura Koi Water Brush. I also added a small catch mechanism allowing it to snap closed. Furthermore, I included a circular hole to simplify pan removal. To improve printing quality, I added supports as well. Hopefully, this design will function correctly when I test it someday. An alternative version with six pan boxes is available. Netfabb resolved the original design's issues, and I only discovered its existence after re-designing.
