Recessed adapter prevents vehicle-end connector from sticking out. Adapter in this remix is lower profile than original, with beveled edges.This set is great for applications where the adapter/plug is on a horizontal surface. The plugs prevent water & other contaminants from pooling up. Used for connecting bed-rack lighting to the battery, and allow me to easily disconnect the lights when the bed rack needs to be removed for any reason (without having to fiddle with wiring). Also provides a very clean look - better than wires running down between the cab & bed, rubbing against the body.
