This is a four-legged walking robot capable of carrying considerable weight, as seen in this short video at http://youtu.be/bV_Y7wDfRAw. Its joints are designed with high torque to support the weight, given its large footprint measuring 300x300mm. The Power HD Analog Standard Size Extra High-Torque Servo 1501MG is utilized for servos, and alternative options can be chosen as well. Improvements made on 14NOV2014 included reinforcing the left and right rotator cuffs to provide stability during movement. Gears are lubricated with grease, and a clear ABS or tough ABS material is recommended for printing gears. Instructions are provided below: Observe photos showing how this assembly comes together. Note: This design benefits from using 100mm long R/C Car shock absorbers/springs on the shins. For a smoother walk, it's suggested to design some solid legs as well. Important note: Be sure to carefully check the gears for left- or right-handed orientation before printing.
