4 Inch Wheel (FRC)
thingiverse
4-inch wheel designed for easy 3D printing, inspired by those used in the FRC competition. The outer diameter measures 4 inches, with 16 tread lugs that fit snugly onto a 1/2-inch hex shaft. To ensure a secure connection, the hex hole may need to be slightly modified if it's too tight on the shaft. This wheel can be printed in one piece using a dual-extruder printer or separately, although assembling it might require some extra effort due to its design. A small amount of adhesive is necessary to keep the tread securely attached to the hub. To achieve the desired level of flexibility, print the tread with flexible filament at an infill percentage of 40% or higher. The hub should be printed with PLA or ABS using a minimum of 60% infill for added strength; more infill will result in an even stronger wheel. This design was created using Fusion 360 software.
