I attempted crafting some bearings using 4,5mm airgun BB's. Here is a video demonstrating how I created the bearing: https://youtu.be/ymC9LT3nthI It functions quite well. To work with 4,5mm BB's, you must create a 5mm channel. My first attempt was 4,7mm and the balls are extremely tight, making it as rigid as concrete. I'm aware that bearings from China cost less than the time I invested, but this seems like a swift way to produce custom bearings on demand. You could, for instance, create a square mounting plate with an integrated custom-sized bearing.
