"Once the most exalted mage in all of Talarius, Toller was often the last line of defence against the kingdom's enemies.   He often drove back the hordes, the last bastion  breaking wave after wave until that fateful day.  On that day, he pushed his powers too far, overstretching his capabilities, scrambling his mind as a consequence. Now the kingdom's most potent mage appears to many as a muddled old man, and although he still has a vast mental library of spells that he can recount and use.  he can't remember what they all do and, more often than not, uses the wrong magic for the job.  Even now, King Garmond respects him and values his council but is aware that he is potentially a dangerous liability with all the power he still possesses.   To that end, Garmond has created the Talarian College of Magic to ensure proper training for mages maintaining their magical might and provide a team of "fixers" in case Toller's magic glitches and causes problems.  So far, Toller has kept its members very busy insisting on using magic for everything, warming his tea, sweeping his study, fetching his books. All of which has resulted in minor magical mishaps such as turning his broom into a lizard and setting fire to the curtains.  Lately, his main area of study has been focused on regaining his memory and with that control of his magic.   The King desperately wants him back on form and he has dedicated a team of magical researchers to help him.  The young Therion Caller Lydia is proving to be instrumental in this research, gaining valuable insight from the powerful beings at her disposal. But today it was the twins who are visiting 'Grandad Toller' as they had affectionately named him, he always had the most outrageous stories, he was always very kind to them and most of all because he had a massive stash of the best biscuits!"
