$4.00Horses For Hastings ! (Oceangoing Knarr Extension Pack No. 1)
myminifactory
This is the Oceangoing Knarr Extension Pack #1. It shows how many horses a supply ship in Duke William’s fleet could have brought to Hastings. A discussion with another MMF user prompted this conversion package (thanks, David King !). There are four different unsaddled horse poses. They are supposed to be tied to the boat from their heads (check out the Bayeux Tapestry). There are four attendants and a coxwain who are either tending to the animals or handling the the boat. Since this is supposed to be a supply ship, and it is heading into a war zone, there are also various scatter items of war stuff. Swords. Spears. Shields (round and conical). Axes. The casks of ale and bags of turnips from the small Knarr kit. The horses need food too -- for the trip and for the first few days until the army either loses to Harold’s more experienced army or finds enough local forage. So, bales of hay. Finally, there is the unresolved question of the horses. Four horses were the likely number, but just in case it could have been more, I have added also a version of the hull that has been opened up a bit further to up the boat’s carrying capacity to potentially six horses.
