This is Bol Understones and he is a bit of a cranky fella. I have been itching to do some dwarves for a while and was walking my dog when a thought about two grumpy lackey guards set to guard one of the side gates of a human city came to me. I wanted an ugly elf and a grumpy dwarf to greet weary travelers. I have been meaning to kick up the stylization and personality of my sculpts for a while and figured I would start with these two. Bol Understones is the first one of the bunch and Daek Figleaf isn't far behind. Since these two aren't the paragon's of their respective heritages I focused on a less sophisticated design for their gear than I normally strive for which was a lot of fun. My goal was to sculpt enough personality in them that you could imagine the voice of the character.
