3x3 Rubik's Cube
thingiverse
This was my first foray into 3D modeling and printing a functional Rubik's cube. It succeeded... sort of. While it rotated better than a genuine Rubik brand cube, it falls short when compared to any high-quality 3x3 puzzle. It pops too easily and catches excessively. I would not advise attempting to print this design. Given that I FDM printed it, the finishing process was incredibly time-consuming (removing brims and gluing pieces). Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of it fully assembled, but I do possess one of the wire frame, which I think looks fantastic!\r\n\r\nIf you're feeling bold enough to attempt printing this design, be prepared with:\r\n8 corner A parts\r\n8 corner B parts\r\n24 edge pieces\r\n6 center top components\r\n12 center bottom components\r\nThe core, screws, and springs of a standard 3x3 Rubik's cube\r\n\r\nI look forward to designing and sharing more puzzles in the future. I gained valuable insights while working on this project.
