LR44 button cells, also known as AG13, are abundant and affordable yet difficult to find pre-made holders for. The battery holder accommodates three cells in series, generating a nominal voltage of 4.5V. For PCB mounting, the lead spacing measures 0.8 inches. To create the battery contacts (repeat on both sides), use a piece of bare copper wire or a scrap component lead. Push one end through the top hole and bend it down/back, looping it into the bottom hole. Fold the excess into the channel, fold the other end over it, remove any slack, and trim off excess from the folded-under end. Ensure there is enough length on the folded-over end to pass through the PCB.
