3Up Bed Levelling Thumbscrew Upgrade

I was frustrated with the challenge of getting a perfectly level bed on my 3Up when using standard bed holders, so I created this upgrade. This now lets me position the hotend directly above the bed holders and fine-tune the bed's level from below. This is a significant improvement over the old method of having to move the hotend out of the way to adjust the level and then put it back in place over the holder again to check its position. Since I'm using an MKIII ALU heated bed, I designed this for M3 hardware, but it should work with almost every bed design. If you print this in ABS or HIPS, you'll be able to ensure that it can withstand high temperatures. With this design, I now have 200mm of Z-travel using an E3D V6. The thumbscrew is a shorter version of the one at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:897442. Please note that this requires moving the extrusions that hold the bed slightly closer together. Instructions First, print off three or four sets of parts depending on your setup. The parts will snap into place easily on 2020 Extrusion and use existing T-Nuts for attachment. Then, assemble by placing a 30mm (or longer) M3 bolt through the bed and securing it firmly with a nut. Feed the bolt through a spring, then the bed holder, and finally attach the thumbscrew. Repeat this process for each mounting point. Next, loosen the extrusion mounting points to allow for movement in the Y-direction. Install the bed, and tighten everything up again.
