3Up Bed Levelling Thumbscrew Upgrade
prusaprinters
I was annoyed by the difficulty of getting a perfectly level bed on my 3Up when using the stock bed holders, so I've designed this upgrade. This now allows me to place the hotend directly above the bed holders, and adjust the bed to perfect level from below. This is a vast improvement from the old method of having to move the hotend out of the way to adjust the level, and back over the holder again to measure. I'm using an MKIII ALU heated bed, so I have designed this for M3 hardware, but it should work with almost every bed design as far as I can tell. I recommend printing this in ABS or HIPS if you can, to ensure it can withstand the heated bed temperature. The height of this design is such that I now have a full 200mm of Z-travel using an E3D V6. The thumbscrew is a slightly shorter version of http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:897442 NOTE: This does require moving the extrusions which hold the bed slightly closer together. Instructions Print off either three or four of each part, depending on your setup. The parts will clip nicely into place on 2020 Extrusion, and use the existing T-Nuts to attach. Then, assemble by placing a 30mm (or more) M3 bolt through the bed, then securing firmly with a nut. This is then fed through a spring, the bed holder, and finally the thumbscrew is attached. Repeat for each mounting point. I then loosened the extrusion mounting points to allow travel in the Y-direction, installed the bed, and tightened everything up again. Category: 3D Printer Parts
