3rd Gen Toyota 4Runner Backup Monitor Mount
thingiverse
I got a 4.3" backup monitor for my Runner as a Christmas gift. While trying to rotate the original back mount with its sticky pad, I accidentally broke it in two pieces. At that point, I decided to create my own system instead of just dealing with the existing one. I designed this mount to fit snugly into the cigarette lighter hole. To make this work, you'll need to remove all the unnecessary parts from the cigarette lighter, leaving only the clear and white plastic ring that holds the metal tube in place - that's where the mount will go. This setup allows you to feed wires through the mount and behind the dash. The mount itself has a few components: a keyed ring that contours to the cl recess to prevent rotation, an adapter post that mounts inside the screen, taking the place of the factory mount, and a mini ring that goes over the outside of the adapter pin to keep it from rotating. You'll need to remove the original mount and replace it with this one in order for everything to work properly. The mount is angled at 40 degrees, giving you an optimal view of what's behind your vehicle. Although I designed this specifically for a certain screen model (https://www.amazon.com/Mirror-Foldable-Rearview-Monitor-Screen/dp/B01D9YSSPM/ref=sr_1_1?s=car&ie=UTF8&qid=1481995292&sr=1-1&keywords=backup+camera+monitor&refinements=p_n_feature_keywords_two_browse-bin%3A7014926011), it may work with other screens as well, or at least give you some ideas to start from.
