3Pod: The 3d Printed Omniwheel Robot
thingiverse
A three-wheeled omniwheel robot has been custom-built, using an Arduino and Adafruit Motor Shield for its brainpower. Improved traction is achieved via Kornylak wheels. Videos will be available soon upon receiving the ordered battery pack. The project's latest components and code are on GitHub at https://github.com/cmspooner/3Pod_Robot. On February 26, all files were re-uploaded with a final design, awaiting printing and assembly. Previous updates include revised STL files and zipped Arduino code, Inventor 2014 files, and step files. PDFs provide hardware and assembly instructions, requiring 3 sets of each: Wheel Hubs Outside, Wheel Hubs Motor Side, Motor Mounts, Motor Arms, and Offsets; plus, print 1 copy of Gyro Mount, Arduino Mount, and body for assembling the wheels first, followed by legs and finally the body. Easiest assembly is achieved by loosely attaching the Arduino to its mount while dropping the long screws down through the arduino mount. Tighten all components once fully assembled.
