To add more clearance for a different build plate, consider using a z-axis end stop. This 3mm end stop may be necessary for certain builds, such as thing #2764967. You can modify it to suit your needs by adjusting settings in Tinkercad. Note: Adjusting the z offset in firmware will cause the build plate to hit the machine's bottom.
