Version 3.0 of the Airtripper Bowden extruder offers enhanced part centering and hole parameterization, accommodating filament sizes between 1.75 and 3mm. By default, it is designed for a 3mm filament with an MK7 drive gear (effective diameter: 10.56mm) and a 6mm Bowden tube outer diameter. Parametric mounting holes are set up for attachment to beam extrusions using 3mm bolts. However, this design is still experimental, so adjustments may be needed before printing for desired alignment. Firstly, print all the parts and add a (1) 608ZZ bearing to the bearing holder. Secondly, attach a drive gear (e.g., MK7) to the motor shaft, aligning it with the filament guides. Finally, fasten the strut and extruder body to a NEMA 17 motor using bolts: (1) M3x25mm, (2) M3x30mm and (1) M3x7mm. Secure the bearing holder with (2) M3x30mm bolts and nuts or use longer bolts with springs and washers for added stability.
