3M Respirator Mask Exhaust Clip

I stumbled upon a fantastic design that offers filter cartridges for a 3M respirator here, at this link:\r\nhttps://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4234928\r\n\r\nAfter disassembling a 3M Filtrete furnace filter, I used it as the filtering material. Their furnace filters utilize the same micron-sized filtration material as 3M uses in their N95 masks. Be sure to get the Filtrete Allergen line with a model number of 1500 or above.\r\n\r\nThe attached photos show the furnace filter after disassembly, and what the cartridges referenced in the link look like. I then display what my part looks like, and how I cut the filter material for the exhaust port. My part clips to the outside, featuring a small circle that fits around the top outside of the exhaust port, which is also circular. This circular ridge in my part secures the filter in place and provides a seal, ensuring all air exits through the filter, not around it.\r\n\r\nWith this exhaust filter installed, you provide protection to others from your germs, while also offering a "fail-safe" option in case the exhaust valve on your mask begins to degrade and no longer seals perfectly. This is how masks eventually fail. With this filter on the exhaust side, you will remain protected should that exhaust valve fail.\r\n\r\nYou cannot print this design in PLA because it is too rigid and brittle. PETG works great and is what I used.\r\n\r\nI have provided the Fusion 360 f3D file for those who want to adjust the design.
